The new Volkswagen Tayron has arrived, positioned as a large SUV with five or optionally seven seats, sitting between the premium Touareg and mid-sized Tiguan.
The Tayron eHybrid offers impressive power delivery, functioning as an electric vehicle for everyday driving with an electric range of over 100 km (around 62 miles). It combines sophistication with practicality, offering up to 885 litres of luggage space in the five-seat configuration. Additionally, the Tayron has a towing capacity of up to 2.5 tonnes for models equipped with 4MOTION all-wheel drive, making it versatile for towing.
The Tayron’s design stands out with sharp lines and premium features, measuring around 4.8 metres in length. LED headlights and an illuminated Volkswagen badge create a distinctive light signature at the front, while the rear features a full-length LED crossbar. The cabin showcases high-quality materials such as ArtVelours Eco microfibre and open-pore wood, complemented by ambient lighting for an elegant interior atmosphere.
Available in three trim levels – Life, Elegance, and R-Line – the Tayron includes a generous array of standard features. These include a 12.6-inch infotainment screen with App-Connect Wireless, nine airbags, three-zone automatic air conditioning, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Advanced technology such as adaptive cruise control, Lane Assist, automatic emergency braking (Front Assist), and Park Assist Plus further enhances its safety and convenience.
For those seeking even more, options include adaptive chassis control (DCC Pro), IQ.LIGHT HD matrix headlights, and Travel Assist for assisted driving. Premium features like a Harman-Kardon sound system, leather seats with massage functions, and a panoramic sunroof add luxury to the driving experience.
With a wide selection of powertrains, including two next-generation plug-in hybrids offering up to 272 PS (268 bhp), the Tayron is both efficient and powerful. Its PHEVs can cover long journeys with up to 850 km between refueling stops, making it ideal for both family trips and longer adventures.
