Volkswagen's ID. Buzz brings the iconic camper van into the new era so that everyone can find new adventures, no matter where you are. Buzz makes sustainable mobility comfortable and practical.
The ID. Buzz has a spacious interior with flexible seating which allows you to easily create even more space in a few simple steps. Coloured accenting brings some character into the cabin, and you’ll spot an insert across the dashboard for even more style. A 5.4-inch digital cockpit comes as standard and offers you key driving information. Sitting in the centre of the dashboard is a 10-inch infotainment system, which can be upgraded to a larger and more advanced 12-inch version.
Practical touches include up to eight USB-C charging sockets throughout the cabin, while a new innovation is the 'Buzz Box'. This is a central storage bin that contains a top compartment housing an ice scraper and bottle opener, bottle storage and a large five-litre drawer for storing bulkier items.
The exterior is unmistakably inspired by the classic campervan, with a two-tone paint finish and many more styling cues. Take the large badge at the front for example, albeit with sleek LEDs for a modern touch. A sliding door also appears on the VW ID. Buzz for practical access to the rear seats. 18-inch alloy wheels come as standard, but you’ll be able to opt for up to 21-inch units if you’d prefer.
As standard, the VW ID. Buzz will be a five-seater. Longer-wheelbase, six- and seven-seat variants are due to follow in 2023. With all five seats in place, the ID. Buzz will give you 1,121 litres of boot space.
The ID. Buzz has a 201bhp electric motor driving the rear wheels, while a battery with 77kWh of usable capacity is fitted. There's 170kW charging on board, so the battery can be charged from five to 80 per cent capacity in 30 minutes from a powerful enough DC source. What's more, the ID. Buzz will come with bi-directional charging as standard, so not only will you be able to charge the car at home, you'll also be able to feed energy from the battery back into the grid.
The ID. Buzz has a broad range of driver assist systems that includes Trained Parking, Car2X; which can warn of hazards on your route, and the latest version of Travel Assist, which combines Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist.
