Combining the styling of both SUVs and coupes, the Q8 is based on the same platform as the Q7 seven-seater, but here only comes with five seats due to the sloping roof line at the rear. It shares much of its design with the Q8 Sport concept from 2017, including the bold new grille with vertical fins and frameless doors, and also incorporates a single rear light bar and dished 21-inch alloy wheels.
Fitted with the 50 TDI powertrain – a mild-hybrid setup that mates a six-cylinder diesel engine with a 48V electrical system, producing 282bhp and 600Nm of torque. That’s paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive. Inside, the model comes with ample space for five as it’s based on the same platform as the Q7, and as with many recent Audi models, equipment levels are impressive. It comes with the same cockpit layout as the A8, A7 and A6 – meaning two central touchscreens and the Virtual Cockpit display in the instrument binnacle.
Standard equipment includes adaptive sports suspension, LED headlights and satellite navigation.
